HVAC retrofits for UAE commercial buildings

Humidity. Odour. Uneven cooling. Running costs.

Different building problems need different solutions. RGS assesses how your HVAC system is performing before proposing a retrofit, replacement or change to its operation.

We work with facility managers, asset managers and building owners across the UAE. Our approach starts with the building’s symptoms, existing equipment and measured conditions, then develops a scope around the findings.

What is driving your project?

Humidity and condensation

Damp rooms, condensation and recurring moisture problems need investigation of temperature, fresh-air treatment, controls and possible moisture paths. The solution may involve HVAC changes alongside repairs to drainage, insulation or the building envelope.

Kitchen exhaust odour

Cooking smells outside the kitchen can involve hood capture, filtration, pressure balance or exhaust re-entry. Assessing the complete exhaust and makeup-air system helps identify the appropriate correction.

Temperature and comfort

Persistent hot spots and uneven cooling can follow changes to layout, occupancy or equipment. Airflow measurement, control checks and capacity assessment help distinguish a balancing issue from a need for new plant.

Energy and running costs

Fan operation, controls, operating schedules and equipment condition can offer opportunities for improvement. EC fan upgrades are one option where the existing AHU and operating duty make a suitable candidate.

A practical route from problem to project

Survey. Agree the symptoms, scope and operating conditions, then inspect and measure the relevant equipment.

Diagnose. Identify the likely causes and explain the evidence, including any further investigations needed.

Compare options. Set out viable maintenance, controls, retrofit and replacement options. For energy measures, compare costs with savings estimates based on stated assumptions.

Plan the work. Consider access, shutdowns, occupied areas and sequencing before committing to a programme.

Commission and check. Verify the completed work against the agreed performance requirements.

An upgrade should solve the identified problem

Sometimes a control adjustment or a maintenance correction is sufficient. Sometimes the remaining equipment condition makes replacement more sensible. RGS explains the options so you can decide on the scope that fits the building and budget.
